Lumberjacking is used to gather logs from trees, at level 30 fine logs can also be acquired from trees. Gnarled logs and Heartwood logs can be acquired from Heartwood trees at level 45 and at level 70 Old Growth logs and Greater Heartwood logs can be obtained from Greater Heartwood trees. A lumberjack axe is required to lumberjack and can be bought from the woodworking shop for 150 gold or made by a carpenter with 4 planks. To use a lumberjack axe double-click it then select a tree. The odds of success are skill/2 and strength/6 plus 75% (base % may be different with larger trees).
Milling requires a saw which can be bought from a woodworking shop for 200 gold or made by a forger from 2 iron ingots. To use a saw double-click it and select the pile of logs you wish to mill (gnarled logs give 2 planks and old growth give 3). The chances of success are based on your skill/2 and dexterity/6 plus 23%. (even less for Fine, Heartwood, and Greater Heartwood logs)
Carpentry requires Carpenter's Tools which can be bought from a Woodworking shop for 200 gold or made by a forger from 2 iron ingots. To use the Carpenter's Tools double-click them and you'll be given a menu of items you can craft. This menu is divided into weapons, armor, and tools and includes the number of planks required to craft each item. The odds of success are determined by your skill/2 and dexterity/6 plus the base%. At present there are 4 magic items that can assist with the Woodworking trade:
 Felling Axe: This item gives 5 bonus levels to lumberjacking skill when used and gives double non-magical logs.
 Logger's Axe: This item gives a bonus of 10 levels in lumberjacking when used and requires 20 lumberjacking skill to use.
 Two Bladed Saw: This item gives a bonus of 10 levels in milling when used and requires 20 milling skill to use.
 Carpentry Toolbox: This item gives a bonus of 10 levels in carpentry when used and requires 20 carpentry skill to use.
